These homemade orange fruit snacks are made with just 2 simple ingredients – fresh orange juice and grass-fed gelatin. They are a quick and easy way to get a collagen boost while enjoying a yummy treat. Kids are obsessed with these healthy gummies!
Sprinkle gelatin on top of the orange juice in a small saucepan and allow it to bloom for a few minutes. Do not turn on the heat yet. Gelatin will soak up the moisture, so you shouldn’t see the dried powder after blooming.
Turn on heat to medium and use a whisk to mix the bloomed mixture until fully combined with no lumps. Continue whisking over low-medium heat until gelatin is fully dissolved. Then remove from heat. You do not need to heat much and are no looking to boil. Just a little heat to help dissolve remaining gelatin.
Pour mixture into a medium sized baking dish lined with unbleached parchment paper and place in the fridge until firm. It doesn’t take long!
Once firm, remove the parchment from the dish and cut fruit snacks into cubes. Store in an air-tight glass container in the fridge.
These are collagen-rich snacks that make perfect after-school snack or lunchbox additions.
