Designer collaborations are anything but surprising for labels now. Brands like GAP, Target and Topshop have already established this as something on the regular with new designers popping in and out at least every 2 months! Now H&M has decided to collaborate with the very talented costume designer Trish Summerville of the movie The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo.

This is slightly surprising since the typical route for these big stores is to choose highly sought-after brands; not anything near costumes! Summerville’s collaboration with H&M will re-create a wardrobe that is similar in style to the movie’s main character, Lisbeth Salander.
Items in H&M stores, however, will be slightly more ‘fashion-friendly’, but will still resemble that of a very independent woman. From what we’ve seen thus far there are going to be hoodies, grey shirts, large dark coats and lots of leather pants! A very grungy, edgy look that I’m sure will please many hipster teens.
H&M felt like they would work perfectly with the successful costume designer since they are both Swedish. Summerville says,
They were just like, ‘Yeah, she’s Swedish, she’s amazing, and we want to be a part of this.’
The price range for the collection will be from $3.95 up to $199 for a leather jacket. We love wallet friendly collaborations! Now here’s where you step in, what do you think of this collection? Will you jump on board and snag any items from Lisbeth’s H&M wardrobe?

H&M said this line will be released on Dec 14th and for those in Chicago it will be at the mag mile location. I myself will be in line getting my hands on some of this collection!!!
