6 Easy Ways To Throw A July 4th Party In Style As Seen On TV
1. American Fruit & Yogurt Parfait Cups
These fruit and yogurt parfait cups can be arranged in an American flag to add to the patriotic festivites. Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese filling makes these treats healthy for snacks or dessert. Make or buy phyllo dough cups. Hint: I made phyllo dough cups in a mini muffin sheet. Do not bake for more than 5 minutes at 425 degrees. When phyllo dough cups are cool. Put a dollop of greek yogurt in each cup, then top with either blueberries and/or strawberries.
2. Fireworks Hand-dipped Ice Cream Waffle Cone Bowls
Using red and blue sprinkles, you can make your waffle cone bowls festive. See recipe for hand dipping ice cream cones here. The recipe I used is with coconut oil rather than butter to eliminate any trans fats and also add nutritional benefits. Hint: For hot days, the bowls are better than cones because ice cream will melt very fast and fall off of the ice cream cone.
3. Firecracker Watermelon Sparklers
This is a simple DIY for July 4th. Use grilling skewers to put a start shaped watermelon on one end and fill the rest with blueberries. Hint: A star shaped cookie cutter will give you a more professional look rather than trying to cut a star yourself like I did.
4. DIY Paper Placemats
Disposable placemats are perfect for the fourth of July, but that doesn’t mean they need to be ugly. Using a white piece of paper, you can decorate it with a fireworks motif or a red rose. Cut the top off of a celery stalk and dip in red childrens paint. Then stamp a design on the paper placemat. Hint: I did not buy paper placemats, i bought paper in the placemat size dimensions at FedEx.
5. Picnic Canisters for Flatware & Napkins
Even your flatware and napkins can be displayed in a festive way. Using an oatmeal canister, wrap patterned paper around it and secure it with double sided tape. Add a ribbon to the top because you are having a party. Place your napkins and flatware inside for everyone to help themselves.
6. July 4th Florals
Floral arrangements make your party cheerful and complete the look. Using short and small floral arrangements, you can have more flexibility with sprinkling them throughout the party rather than having 1 large arrangement.
