The sixties inspired clothing at the Chloé Spring/Summer 2013 Ready-to-Wear fashion show during Paris Fashion Week this past fall were accented with the smokey eye in a copper eyeshadow and cat eye shape. But, unlike your typical silver smokey eye color and sharp cat eye shape, this eye has squared off edges and an unlikely copper eyeshadow that can easily be worn from day to night.
Diane Kendal, the makeup artist who created this inspiring copper eyeshadow smokey eye – used MAC Cream Colour Base in Bronze topped with MAC Pigment in Copper Sparkle on the models backstage to create the cat eye look – fitting of the 1960’s era. Kendal left the lashes bare so as not to overshadow the gorgeous copper shadow, but added a subtle definition with MAC Fluidline gel liner in Blacktrack onto the upper lash line. She left the skin dewy and bare and added a bit of MAC clear Lipglass to finish the full look.
Copper eyeshadow is a great color to wear this spring as a smokey eye or cat eye, and pairs perfectly with emerald, Pantone’s 2013 Color of the Year. If the copper eyeshadow smokey cat eye is too dramatic for you, simply apply a copper eyeshadow from your upper lash line to your crease leaving the brow bone bare. Top it off with a bit of black liner and mascara and soft pink or glossy lip.
