This year, one of our main goals is to live a healthier lifestyle and use more natural products. We met up with Buddhi Yoga owner, Carolina Vivas, to find out how to lead a more natural lifestyle.
It’s so important to be aware of your body, from the products we use on our skin to the way we fuel ourselves. “I personally think it’s really important to be careful what you put on your body because the skin is the largest organ of elimination” says Carolina.

TIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY: Cora – Organic Cotton Tampons. CORA makes periods toxin-free, worry-free and full of purpose. Giveaway coming soon on Instagram, follow us over there! Username: @nubry.
1. Choose natural products that are safe for your skin.
We need to be mindful about anything that we put on our body because the skin is the largest organ of elimination. Anything that you put in your skin will be absorbed and filtered through your whole body through your liver.
2. Make your own almond milk.
The boxed stuff found at grocery stores is filled with preservatives, chemicals and bad stuff. If you don’t like drinking milk or if you can’t drink milk in your coffee, making your own nut milk is a great alternative, free of dairy. It tastes so much better when it’s homemade!
How to make homemade almond milk
- Soak the nuts overnight
- Blend nuts in the morning in a VitaMix or high speed blender. Add dates for sweetness if desired.
- Strain mixture and that’s it!
3. Be mindful of how you fuel your body.
As important as it is to work the physical body, it’s equally important to pay attention to what you’re eating and what you’re putting inside your body.
4. Use Natural Toothpaste, Soap, Shampoo, Tampons, etc.
Shopping at stores like Pharmaca in La Jolla, CA or Whole Foods makes it easier to purchase natural and organic products. Switch over to more natural products this year including natural toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant and organic tampons like CORA.
5. Unwind with yoga and meditation.
To relax and unwind, do yoga and/or meditate. Just a few minutes a day will make you feel like you just had a huge nap!
