This year, we attended the 15th Annual Samuel Waxman Collaborating for a Cure Charity Benefit in New York City, held on Thursday, November 15th. Past celebrity supporters have included Kid Rock, Chevy Chase, Steely Dan, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, Sheryl Crow, John Fogerty, and Counting Crows. The night was a definite success, from the gorgeous venue at the Park Avenue Armory, to the fabulous auction led by Sotheby’s – which included chartered yachts and an adorable puppy, appearances by fashion designer and honoree Carmen Marc Valvo, and rockstars of the 70’s, Warren Haynes Band, Peter Frampton, and Gregg Allman.
Sadly, cancer affects so many of the people around us and so it is especially wonderful to be able to come together on 1 night to raise money for such a wonderful cause. Imagine a world in which cancer can be treated without disrupting life, can be cured, or can even be prevented…well, an astounding $6 million dollars was raised that evening to benefit cancer research! Below, take a look at what we wore to this fall 2012 charity gala and also who we brushed shoulders with!
