There are two ways a work wardrobe typically goes. Either your professional wardrobe is really boring and dull and a no-brainer in the mornings, OR you spend a lot of time in the mornings choosing your outfit so that you’re really styling in the office. Whichever scenario fits you best, we can help. We’re here to help you spend as little time possible putting your office outfit together in the morning AND we’re here to show you how easy it is to look sophisticated in the office, without having to resort to blah, boring, not flattering, and definitely not pretty outfits in the workplace. Hello, we’re women. We need to look like our beautiful selves all of the time, not part of the time 🙂
Below, we’ve styled an office-appropriate outfit by starting first with the most important garment, the dress. This Son Jung Wan fall 2012 collection sweater dress (pictured left on the fall 2012 runway at NYFW) in chocolate brown has several lightweight layers and crocheted center front. The dress is so interesting to look at because of its multi-dimensional, diaphonous layers, yet it is understated because of the rich color and modern cut and doesn’t draw unwanted attention.
We finish off this simple, yet curious, dress by slipping into chocolate-colored, patent Louboutin heels and layering with a cream-colored, wool overcoat. For extra warmth, we’ve accessorized with a metallic gray fur stole, also by Son Jung Wan. As the weather becomes even chillier, this dress can be further layered with an undershirt, sweater, cardigan, and/or heavier jacket. Adding stockings and knee-high boots would further winterize this dress.

If one garment can be styled and winterized in many different ways, is it worth the splurge, as opposed to fast fashion from places like H&M, Zara, or White House Black Market?
Son Jung Wan’s Fall 2012 Collection is available at Catherina in Oakmont, PA and Miss Jackson’s in Tulsa, OK.
