Being that I’m in fashion, but also in business marketing, I’m always on the hunt for stylish office attire for women. As a business lady, my outfits must be appropriate for a professional setting, although not stale like a corporate office suit, and also relatively fashion-forward! I’m not talking Nasty Gal cutout dresses, but I do appreciate a well-fitted sheath dress and a sexy pair of neutral pumps. Click here to see how I wear a wrap dress. A sheath dress that’s formfitting with slight stretch is easy to move in for a full day of work, it’s conservative, and a neutral color – like burgundy – isn’t too flashy. Pairing a dress with a mismatched blazer is much cooler than wearing a matchy-match dress and blazer. Matchy-match can be very “Ann Taylor” and too corporate…in most cases!
For a lunch meeting the other day in La Jolla, I paired the burgundy Diane Von Furstenberg “Galya” sheath dress (click here to shop similar style) with a cream Zac Posen blazer, a fabulous pair of Christian Louboutin “Jenny” knotted platform peep-toe pumps, and brown Chloe “Silverado” shoulder bag. Below, see pictures of my professional office outfit and let me know what your think! What are your style tips for career woman meets fashion-forward chica?
