We are jetting off to Miami JetBlue style this Thursday and already starting to think about outfits, parties, and most importantly packing. As Anna Della Russo says, “flirt with the mood of the country”. In other words, if someone can tell where you are from when on vacation based on your vacay wardrobe, then you packed poorly. It’s like that!
JET SET: Day 1 Of Packing For Miami

Just like you would not wear a body-con mini to a work party, you wouldn’t wear something out of context while vacationing at a hot spot. Putting some care and thought into your packing really helps immensely because you can travel lighter and won’t have to think about what to wear for each event once you are in paradise. It is, afterall, a vacation! Stress beforehand and you’ll strut your stuff onto that plane.
Swimwear:
The best place to start collecting your packing thoughts is at the pool. What do we want to wear in the cabana? Obviously cute little bikinis and sheer coverups.
However, not all pool time is spent lying down on cabana beds. There is also, you know, playing in the water! It is always necessary to bring another swimsuit for pool day parties where you have to move around, swim, get down with it, and dance.

See, one time I went on vacation and only planned for laying out on the pool bed…aka, I didn’t bring a bikini that could go into the water. I’m talking gorgeous non-waterproof bathing suits that allow only for dipping of the toes, from heavily beaded Jean Paul Gaultier to Herve Leger bandage suits. I know, who wears a non-waterproof bathing suit, right?
So, with this in mind, don’t just pack a few suits, pack ones with various utility. I’m mixing and matching my bikinis and accessories for a combination of muted tones, neons, animal prints, and bright colors!

Beach Bag:
Now is the time to think about what you want in your bag and the necessities you will need. Don’t wait until you get to the pool to realize that you need to buy something you could easily have packed.
Pool necessities can be put into a small pouch. I have included Shishiedo SPF 55, YSL waterproof mascara, mints, variety of light pink shimmery lipglosses, protein bar, and for less beautiful days Soothing Soft Stones and Advil. Know what I mean?
The only makeup needed is mascara and lipgloss, and of course sunglasses. A magazine is always a good entertainer for a least a little bit before the glossy advertisements turn into reality and the Levi’s model you were admiring is now chatting with you….damn!
