How To Lose Tummy Fat Fast – Weight Loss Tips That Work!
1. Why do you need to eat fat to lose fat?
Think of it this way, the body is very intelligent and will happily burn the things it is fed often. So if you eat a lot of carbs, it will burn carbs quickly, knowing it will be replenished. However, similar to hibernation, the body will hold onto the things that come in scarce amounts. Therefore, if you hardly ever eat fat, your body will store it all, since it doesn’t know when it will be fed fat again. You may find that you are doing hours of cardio or dropping your calories very low and still unable to lower your body fat. This is a sign that you are not eating enough fat!!! Try incorporating healthy fats into your daily meals in order to help facilitate fat loss. Fat also facilitates the absorption of Vitamins A, D, E and K.
Healthy Fat Tip: Try using plain extra virgin olive oil for salad dressing to improve absorption of vitamins.
2. Why are low-fat/fat-free foods unhealthy?
Naturally-grown foods that are low in fat — like fruits, veggies and lean protein — are healthy options, obvi! But, when it comes to processed snack foods — like low-fat wheat thins or fat-free cookies — they are essentially all chemicals and not healthy at all. These processed snack foods do not provide any nutrients and have been modified to create what appears to be a healthy option since they are “low fat/fat-free.” In reality, these foods are toxic to your body! If you take a minute to read the ingredients label of any packaged fat-free food, you will be shocked at how many ingredients you’ve probably never heard of!! Your body does not know how to metabolize these chemicals, and therefore, you will experience fatigue, bloating, inflammation, irritability, cravings, and ultimately, disease. Instead of poisoning your body with these toxins, choose whole, natural foods that will provide your body with essential nutrients and the ability to burn calories.
3. What types of fat should you eat?
There is such thing as “good” fats — like polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids (PUFA/MUFA) — and “bad” fats — like trans and saturated fat. You’ve likely heard that almonds and salmon are good for you, yet you are still confused due to the fact that they have high calorie and fat contents. It’s okay! PUFAs and MUFAs actually help to raise HDL (good cholesterol), lower LDL (bad cholesterol), and improve hormone function, immune function and mood.
Healthy Fat Tip: Consume healthy fats such as extra virgin olive oil, avocados, nuts, seeds and fish as they all have PUFAs and MUFAs. In general 25-35 grams of fat per day is a good guideline.
4. Will more abdominal exercises help you get abs?
No! You can do hundreds of ab exercises a day and never see your abs. Why? There is a layer of fat covering your ab muscles (rectus abdominis) and if you really want to know the answer to your question, how to lose tummy fat, then you will need to decrease that layer of fat. Unfortunately, no amount of ab exercises will burn that layer of stomach fat off alone. This is not to say you shouldn’t train abs at all, but the best way to achieve a flat tummy and toned abs is by following a healthy diet which includes healthy fats.
