Thanksgiving is always a holiday I look forward to, not only because we get to have a wonderful meal, lots of desserts, and plenty of adult beverages, but because it is a time of the year when family and friends visit us at our home in Ohio. This year was especially grand because our guests included my aunt who flew in all the way from Aberdeen, Scottland, our grandparents from South Africa, Grandmother from New Mexico, as well as our friends from Boston and California!

We all participated in creating the grand spread from food, desserts, and drinks to the floral arrangements. My mother deemed Thanksgiving 2011’s attire to be “Hunt Style”, which seems ideally suitable for our setting. Carving the turkey with a “chainsaw” carving knife, playing musical notes on the piano, nut-cracking in the library, and warming up by the fireplace after an evening stroll with the dogs made our Thanksgiving one that we will surely remember.
